7 mm or to obtain gauge

Pattern starts!
Ears, make 2
CO 4 st and divide them evenly on
the needles, join to work in
rounds, place marker to mark the
beginning of the round.
Rnd 1: Kbf 4 times. 8 sts
Rnd 2: K to end.
Rnd 3: [Kbf, k1] 4 times. 12 sts
Rnd 4: Rep rnd 2.
Rnd 5: [Kbf,
k2] 4 times. 16 sts
Rnd 6: Rep rnd 2.
Rnd 7: [Kbf,
k3] 4 times. 20 sts
Rnds 8-15: Rep rnd 2.
Leave the sts on needles and change to circular needle.
Head
Setup: K10 sts from the first ear, using
the figure-8 cast on
method, CO 40 [44, 48, 72] sts, k20 from the
second ear, k into the second set of newly casted on sts, k the rem 10 sts from
the first ear. 80 [84, 88, 92] sts.
K 27 rounds.
Face opening
Setup rnd 1: K20 [31, 32, 33], BO 10 sts, k to end of rnd. 70
[74, 78, 82] sts.
Row 1 (RS): K20 [31, 32, 33] turn.
Row 2 (WS): BO 2 [2, 3, 3], p to the end of rnd,
turn. 68 [72, 75, 79] sts.
Row 3: BO 2 [2, 3, 3], k to end of
rnd. 66 [70, 72, 76] sts.
Row 4: P to end.
Row 5: K to end.
Work rows 4-5 a total of 8 times.
Work row 4 one more time.
Neck
Setup (RS):
K to end, using single cast on method, CO 2 [2, 3, 3], turn. 68 [72, 75, 79] sts.
Row 1 (WS): P to end, CO 2 [2, 3, 3] st. 70 [74, 78, 82] sts.
Row 2 (RS): K to end, CO 10 sts and join to work in rounds. 80 [84, 88, 92]
sts.
K 30 rnds.
BO loosely.
Finishing
Sew in loose ends.
With a 8 mm hook, sc around the face to prevent warping.
Turn the hat inside out, fold the ears inwards
as shown in the picture and loosely stich underneath the ears.
Turn the hat back outside out and
put it on!
It goes over your head and your face should peek out from the hole. If you have the hat on and can't see
you're probably wearing it the wrong way. Turn the hat 180 degrees. If you still can't see continue
turning until you do see.
Now you're ready for an adventure time!
